Argument Over Agency Results in Shooting

Authorities say the president of a small North Carolina insurance agency is accused of shooting his two partners in a January business dispute. According to an account in the Jan. 3, 2006 Asheville Citizen-Times, James T. Tedesco, 37, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder. Police say Tedesco and his partners, Murray Wilson and Michael Ezell, were arguing about the future of their insurance agency when Tedesco pulled out a handgun and shot his partners repeatedly. The men were shot in the abdomen and arms. Ezell was also shot in the head. Wilson drove himself to a hospital and was treated and released while Ezell remained hospitalized with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, according to police.

Apparently, Wilson and Ezell had told their partner about plans to sell the business and confronted him with concerns about how he was running it. Wilson declined to talk about his business dealings but told a reporter, "[Tedesco] was always polite, always soft-spoken. Personally, until he shot me, I liked him."
