You may have noticed the new logo on the cover of this magazine. That may be the most obvious change, but it's far from the only one you'll notice as you page through the redesigned look of Life Insurance Selling.
Our team here has been working hard over the past several months to improve the way we deliver the top-notch content readers have long expected from this 83-year-old institution, and this issue is the culmination of those efforts. You will notice changes in feature articles, columns and departments -- all intended to make the magazine easier and more visually appealing to read.
Our efforts do extend beyond cosmetic elements. We have added new regular content in the form of two new columnists, plus a new monthly Producer Roundtable feature, put together by a familiar name to many long-time readers: former Editor Charles K. Hirsch, who is now running an industry consulting business. We are happy to have his expertise back in the fold as a contributing editor who will interview top producers in the subject matter of each month's "main theme" topic, which this month happens to be estate planning. Check out his feature beginning on page 43.
When health concerns forced Burt Meisel to retire from writing "Is this about insurance?" this past February after 12 glorious years, we began a search for a permanent replacement while utilizing guest columnists in that space for the past several months. This month, we're proud to introduce respected producer Brent Welch, CFP, ChFC, CLU, as the new author of "Is this about insurance?" Get his take on lessons to be learned from the Michael Jackson estate mess on page 16.
A completely new column is "Better Prospecting," which debuts opposite the inside back cover. Kim Magdalein, who has worked his way to tremendous success in large part due to a very effective seminar program, will offer monthly insight on all forms and aspects of prospecting.
We hope you'll find all the new additions and the new look helpful, but we also want to reassure our readers of our firm commitment to provide unparalleled peer-to-peer content with a core focus on life insurance products and sales ideas.
That's not going to change.
