A body that helps members of Congress understand tax issues has published a 44-page guide that explains how individual income tax and social insurance tax programs now work.
The Joint Committee on Taxation gives a detailed description of the kinds of estate, gift and generation-skipping taxes U.S. taxpayers will pay in 2010 and 2011, as well as a detailed description of ordinary income tax obligations.
The guide also includes a detailed description of the mechanics of the alternative minimum tax.
