The Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) released a new financial planning tool for consumers this week. The "Life Changes Checklist" assists users in determining personal circumstances that might impact future financial planning.
The checklist's release followed recent survey results that indicate about 100 million Americans cite financial freedom among their top New Year's resolutions each year. The results also indicated that as many as four out of five Americans are unsuccessful at achieving that goal.
Cathy Weatherford, president and CEO of IRI responded to the survey results and the release of the new planning product saying, "Taking a holistic look at family, career, personal finance and health changes is key toward achieving long-term financial freedom. Consumers can start the New Year off on strong financial footing by completing this checklist and consulting with their financial advisor. Now more than ever it is critical for consumers to increase their personal stake in their retirement planning."
The IRI offers a variety of not-for-profit retirement and financial planning resources for financial advisors and consumers. For more information about the IRI or their services, visit www.IRIonline.org.
