Amrita Financial Inc. is seeing a modest recovery in the life settlement industry.
Amrita, Oceanside, Calif., began conducting the Amrita Life Settlement Index survey series in December 2009.
Survey managers are polling life settlement providers licensed in the United States about current and future market conditions.
The index rose to 528 in January, from 500 a month earlier.
"The index's strengthening was mainly based upon an improvement in life settlement origination activity and an increasingly optimistic buying outlook," Amrita says.
