I received the following excerpt of a message from one of my clients, and I have included my reply as an example of how to obtain a referral.
Dear Simon,
Thank you for the clarification. That really helps. I spent the afternoon listening to the coaching conversation recorded with you last week.
Thank you for everything you have been doing for/with me thus far. I must tell you that this is a very good process for me and I am invigorated and excited.
I have also given your name to a few people, one a financial planner and one a financial product wholesaler.
All the best,
Jane Doe
And my reply:
Hi Jane Doe,
Congratulations on the work that you are putting into the coaching and may it reward you a thousand-fold.
Happy to receive the names of the advisor and the wholesaler for follow up.
My follow-up might look like this:
Dear _____,
Jane Doe mentioned your name and thought that I may be of service to you as a business coach.
To get to know me, please click this link to look at the following coaching testimonials (attach link).
Here is a link to understand the “Clear Your Roadblocks Coaching Process” (attach link) that Jane Doe is working on.
Please e-mail me back if you would like to have a complimentary conversation about how I can help you to meet and exceed your goals.
Kind regards,
Simon
Hopefully, this example will guide you the next time you’re fortunate enough to receive a referral.
