If GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney did try to avoid paying as much as he could in taxes—as Democrats say—how would this make him different from any other American during tax season? Furthermore, why would this make him unfit to be president? There is no connection that Romney’s conduct inside the oval office would be a reflection of his conduct in his personal life. A few presidents in the past 60 years could be used as evidence to the contrary; presidents who were cautious politically but reckless personally—and just the opposite.
