The approach often used to make managers better is showing them the behaviors they should have. Except, that tactic does not always work. Instead, how about concentrating on the behaviors that a managers should not have? Adapting the seven deadly sins to corporate life could be a good place to start. Julian Birkinshaw, a professor at London Business School and author of “Reinventing Management: Smarter Choices for Getting Work Done, has developed a seven-question test to determine which sins a person is prone to. Of course, filling out the questionnaire is the easy part. Taking action to eliminate those bad behaviors within is the difficult part.
