LIFE Foundation launches new website

Announced at NAILBA 32

The LIFE Foundation is a vital asset to the life insurance industry. The nonprofit organization's mission is to inspire the public to take personal financial responsibility through the ownership of life insurance and related products.

As it stands, the foundation is a valuable resource to both agents and consumers with its insurance calculators, realLIFEstories and awareness campaigns. And in just a few weeks, the LIFE Foundation will become even more valuable.

Announced at the annual NAILBA conference in Dallas, in mid-December the organization will launch a new website — one that is split into two sites tailored to consumers on one and agents on another.

"We made a concerted effort to make this as simple as possible for the end user," said Matt Derrick of the LIFE Foundation. "We tried to be very clean and simple and allow [the user] to easily see what they’re looking for."

Launching in mid-December, this site will feature rich social media integration and fresh editorial content, as well as a wealth of industry resources, including updated calculators, an idea exchange, and more. Built with fully responsive design, this site allows BGAs, producers and consumers to access information via any mobile or desktop device.

Staying current with social media trends is a top priority for the LIFE Foundation. But the organization also wants it to be a top priority for producers. With the new site, LIFE will offer more videos and infographics for agents to share on their social media platforms.

"We've already done more than 1,000 posts on our social media sites," said Chris Hill, vice president of social media for the LIFE Foundation. "This is all content you can share. Just follow us and hit the share button — put it on your company’s page, link to our videos on Twitter" to help engage your current and potential clients.

Inspired by what the LIFE Foundation is doing with their site and social media presence? Here are some tips they offer so your business can get started with the all-important online networking:

  • Start (an obvious but sometimes ingored first step)
  • Content and calendar (be disciplined and organized with what you post online)
  • Advertise (it's ok to pay for views)
  • Monitor and learn (cut out what’s not working)
  • Experiment, experiment, experiment (to find the most successful approaches)
  • Repeat the process (and learn each time you do it)

The LIFE Foundation is out there to inspire Americans to take financial responsibility for their lives. Use their resources to help spread the word.
