Republican governors skeptical about Hobby Lobby election impact

Democrats are hoping they can use the U.S. Supreme Court decision on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) birth control coverage mandate to paint Republicans as waging a “war on women.”

Kyle Cheney writes an article for Politico Pro that Republicans he interviewed at the National Governors Association summer meeting this past weekend say they have heard little about the ruling in their home states, possibly because the ruling came out at the federal level.

Some states with Republican governors, including Wisconsin, already require insurers to cover birth control products or services.

GOP attendees at a meeting for governors said they have not heard much from local people about the ruling.
