Want to know whether the workers at a nursing home are disposing of food properly, or whether the food services workers have hair sticking out from under their caps?
ProPublica has a database for you.
Charles Ornstein and Lena Groeger, reporters at ProPublica, have created an easy-to-search compendium of more than 60,000 nursing home inspection reports from all across the country.
Some reports deal with what regulators classify as serious deficiencies, such as failures by staff members to tell physicians about potentially serious health problems.
Others relate to what regulators think of as being fairly minor problems, such as failures to give residents a choice of bathing frequency.
